SINOGATEWAY is a company incorporated in Hong Kong (Business Registration No. [BR number to be completed]), with its office at Unit D3, 11/F, Luk Hop Industrial Building, No. 8 Luk Hop Street, San Po Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. In this Policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to SINOGATEWAY; "you" and "your" refer to visitors of and clients using this website. We provide China-related support services to overseas businesses: written Q&A answers, referrals of licensed mainland China lawyers, referrals of Chinese intellectual property agencies, and market verification research reports.
(a) Enquiry data: your name, business name, email address and the content of messages you send through our contact form or by email.
(b) Order data: services ordered, amounts, invoices, and proof of payment you provide. Card details are processed by our bank or payment providers (such as Stripe); we do not store your full card numbers.
(c) Case materials: documents, correspondence and information you send us in connection with a service (for example contracts, letters, trademark records, identity documents of company representatives). Some of these materials may be sensitive.
(d) Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and language preference, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie notice on the home page).
We use your data to: answer your enquiries; perform the services you order, including engaging and instructing mainland China lawyers, intellectual property agencies and vetted researchers on your behalf; process payments and issue invoices; comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations in Hong Kong and, where applicable, in mainland China; and improve our website and services. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your case materials for any purpose unrelated to your service without your consent.
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK Data Protection Act applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to deliver services you ordered); legitimate interests (website security, service improvement and business record-keeping); consent (where you have given it, for example for non-essential cookies); and compliance with legal obligations (for example tax requirements).
We share your data only as necessary to perform our services and as permitted by law: (a) with mainland China lawyers, intellectual property agencies and vetted researchers that we engage for your task, strictly to the extent needed for your task and under confidentiality obligations; (b) with banks and payment providers to process payments; (c) with IT service providers hosting our website and email; and (d) with authorities where required by law. All third-party recipients are bound by confidentiality and data protection commitments, and we select them through documented due diligence.
Your personal data is stored on servers in Hong Kong. To perform services involving mainland China, your data will be transferred to and processed by our engaged professional providers in mainland China. Where required by applicable law, such transfers are made under contractual safeguards consistent with applicable data protection requirements. We will inform you of any material change to where your data is processed.
We retain your enquiry and order data for as long as needed to perform the service and thereafter for the period required by Hong Kong tax and business record-keeping law (currently not less than seven years after the relevant transaction). Case materials are retained for the same period unless you request earlier deletion and no legal requirement prevents it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, request a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any right, email vip@sinogateway.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, regular backups and security monitoring. Case materials are accessible only to personnel performing your task. No method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps aligned with industry practice.
Our services are directed at businesses and are not offered to individuals under 18.
We may update this Policy from time to time and will post the new version on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be notified to clients by email.
